About the Center Web Site
This website is the primary educational and information dissemination vehicle for the AASHTO Center for Excellence in Project Finance (the Center). In addition to introducing users to the Center's services, the website contains information on all aspects of project finance for surface transportation, including discussions of technical topics, project profiles, links to resources, a glossary of terms, and a calendar of events.
The technical content contained in this website is an update and expansion of the information provided in InnovativeFinance.org website. The impetus for InnovativeFinance.org came from the Transportation Research Board's (TRB) April 1997 Conference on Transportation Finance for the 21st Century. The InnovativeFinance.org site was created in 2000-2001 with research monies provided by the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP). Stewardship for the site was transferred to AASHTO in late 2003.
The Center website broadens the purview of the InnovativeFinance.org website, by including content of all issues germane to transportation finance, innovative or otherwise. It is intended to assist transportation decision makers as they meet the mobility and funding challenges facing the nation in the 21st century.
