Congressional Staff Forum: Legislative Issues in Transportation Finance
January 29, 2010, 9 AM-4 PM
Overview
This Forum is designed specifically for all Congressional staff that work on transportation issues, including those from the authorizing committees, appropriation subcommittees, and members.
Because solving the federal surface transportation program funding and financing challenges remain a critical issue in 2010, the Forum provides objective overview and considerations on a number of topic areas to aid in decision-making, including governmental roles and resources, available tax incentive instruments, alternative funding options beyond the gas tax, and the role of a potential National Infrastructure Bank.
Congressmen and experts from operating agencies such as state transportation departments and transit authorities, US Department of Transportation, Congressional Research Service, and public finance institutions, among others, will comprise the set of speakers and panelists that will lead roundtable discussions designed to maximize participant input.
